Beauty Juice

Beauty Juice

So for the longest time I’ve been touting this amazing juice my husband concocted as a way for his patients to get more veggies into their daily diet.

Did you know the average american only consumes 3 (out of the 5 servings) of vegetables a day (and that’s if you only include potatoes – which are really a starch – and fruit juice – which is really more sugar than anything).  The great thing about his “5 A Day” juice is the fabulous side effects of a flatter tummy and INCREDIBLE skin.  Glowing and radiant skin (which a recent University of St. Andrews study found people look more beautiful after consuming higher amounts of veggies).

Naturally I’ve been telling all of my girlfriends about this “Beauty Juice.”  At the 2011 Miss USA pageant (I went to cheer on a few friends competing) and told some of the ladies in my group about Beauty Juice.  Recently a few of them started a fun website full of pageant tips and tricks.  And they made a really cute video about how to make it…..just be sure that when you make it, you add water!  LOL!

Have you had it?  Let me know what you thought of it.

About Kirin

Kirin Christianson+, is the founder of Red Haute Mama, an online community to provide expertise in 'all things glam.' From toes to tresses, no nook goes uncovered without examination. Red Haute Mama steers you toward the holy grail of glamor.

Growing up, Kirin didn’t have a lot, and everything was pretty ordinary - including her. On the outside she was an insecure, gangly, red-headed girl. But on the inside, she was a street-smart brainiac determined to make her way.

How did she do it? She took a long, hard look in the mirror. And there it was. Something wonderful - potential! So she turned that red hair to ravishing, whipped those freckles into creamy white skin, and traded in the Keds for kitten heels.
The result? Me-ow!

What happened next? What didn’t! She became a model for print and television, a trainer for runway, a business mogul and a mom! A red haute mom, that is.

That’s her story from red crayon to red lipstick. So come on girls - let’s start writing yours!

  1. I love that you’re emphasizing the diet-beauty connection! I do the same thing in my dermatology practice and am amazed at how this is new information for most people. We are what we eat, looks included. We’ve gotten in the habit of searching outside ourselves for our beauty routine. We look for creams, makeup, procedures etc, but what goes inside is extremely important too and often forgotten. I also love that you’ve named the green smoothie ‘Beauty Juice’. It’s brilliant and really gets the point across. I just bought a juicer for my office along with a supply of pretty much the same things you have in your recipe. We juice at least 3 times a week for the entire office and it’s great. I love that the nutrition/beauty message is coming from such glamorous women and I’m going to link to your post from my blog. Thanks for the great work!

Juice seems simple to make with ingedients that are easy to get – will definately try it, I can always use an extra ummph to aid my workout regimen for a flatter tummy, I’ll see to it my HB joins me.

You are so welcome Marti! Even my kids will drink it!
